AkzoNobel celebrates Ramadhan buka puasa with media community

IT IS GOOD KARMA, they say, when the“ rule of three”( things that come in threes are inherently more humorous, satisfying and effective than any other number of things), is visited on an individual or event – the annual AkzoNobel Paints buka puasa is no exception. At the onset, it was an occasion for one of the world’ s leading decorative paints and decorative coatings companies to celebrate the breaking of fast during the holy month of Ramadhan with its many friends from the print and online media community.
Secondly, it was also an opportunity to introduce the personable Mr Indra Laban, recently-appointed General Manager for AkzoNobel Decorative Paints Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. A graduate of the Rotterdam School of Management( MBA) and Delft University of Technology( MSc., Mechanical Engineering), the Indonesian-born joins the AkzoNobel family after more than a decade with Cerebos Pacific and a short stint with P. T. Trikomsel Oke, Tbk.
Dulux Visualizer 3.0 The star of the evening, though, introduced, no less, by Mr Laban himself, was AkzoNobel’ s all-new Dulux Visualizer 3.0, a pioneering app created for IOS and Android that uses cutting-edge technology to help customers to‘ see, share and paint’ colours of their choice in real time. First launched in May 2014, the award-winning app has since been downloaded 10 million times and AkzoNobel aims to roll out the new version in over 40 countries this year, including the Netherlands, Turkey, France, India, Indonesia, Argentina and Russia.
Designed to give consumers the‘ freedom to experiment and make bolder choices with their colour selections’, before walls or living spaces are painted, the Dulux Visualizer 3.0 comes with new features, i. e., augmented reality and enhanced video visualisation / capability, that make decorating easier and more inspiring. With the ingenious Colour Picker to mix, match and manage colours, said video( s) may then be uploaded on social media and shared with family and friends, if needs be, for second opinions.
As Mr Laban explained, now, more than ever before, the“ Visualizer is a tool that gives customers confidence to try new colours quicker and see the potential end results of their purchases.” It is a new digital dimension to selecting, experiencing and enjoying the right colours or colour schemes. ■
