Essential updates from your Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

Looking Back at Summer 2025

For the first time in many years, BSO patrons could enjoy our annual SummerFest programs at both of our homes: the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and The Music Center at Strathmore. We welcomed over 17,000 patrons to the halls this summer with a diverse array of performances, from JAWS In Concert, to a sold-out show with hip-hop icon Nas. Beyond the Meyerhoff and Strathmore, an additional 8,000 audience members experienced the magic of the BSO with fireworks at Oregon Ridge Park, with wine at Boordy Vineyards, and against the backdrop of the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club, sharing a special concert billing with the Jonas Brothers.
The Orchestra also traveled to four Maryland counties as part of the next era of Music for Maryland touring. This year’ s stops included Allegany County, St. Mary’ s County, Kent County, and Baltimore County, where the Orchestra’ s Brass section helped celebrate Perry Hall’ s landmark 250 th birthday.

Three New Musicians Join the BSO

The BSO is thrilled to welcome three new musicians to the Orchestra: Abigail Kent, Principal Harp; Ha Young Jung, Principal Bass; and Andrew Eng, Viola.
Abigail Kent joins the BSO from the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, where they held the Principal Harp position. They additionally served as Harp Fellow for the New World Symphony. Kent currently serves on faculty at the College of Charleston, where they hope to inspire the next generation of harpists.
Prior to her appointment to the BSO, Ha Young Jung served as Principal Bass at the New Jersey Symphony. She made regular appearances with the New York Philharmonic, along with other
distinguished ensembles around the globe. Jung is a current faculty member at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
Violist Andrew Eng previously held a one-year position with the National Symphony Orchestra, and performed extensively with both the Washington National Opera and the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. He was previously a member of the Albany and Annapolis Symphony Orchestras. Eng is a founding member of the two-time GRAMMY Award-nominated chamber orchestra A Far Cry.
Please join us in welcoming these talented musicians to the BSO!
