Productive Landscape Stonington, Connecticut This 200-acre working farm dating from the early 1800’s was rescued from traditional suburban development by progressive owners who recognized the immense value of its ecological and cultural resources to the character of the town and region. The project seizes upon artifacts of the site’s agrarian and geological heritage—a drumlin, paddocks, fields, and ponds—and engages a 600-foot-long granite foundation wall to organize the entire domestic program, generating a compelling dialogue between new interventions and the farm’s historical fabric. 68 BSLA 100
