Love Your Home Robin Recommends Hello! I'm Robin Dyke of Locust Grove. Some of you may have seen me on the local Reality Show featured on the Bravo Network, "Mother Funders", others may have met me at a charity fundraiser, out in the community, or even on the golf course. Hopefully, when you met me, you realized the lengths I would go to help others. On "Mother Funders" I was the volunteer coordinator for a PTO, after serving as Vice President during previous terms. I took the step to move to the volunteer coordinator role so that I could participate more closely with those who were willing to give their time to a worthy cause. Through the struggles of filming the show, I realized just how many people experience the same trials while trying to perform for the greater good. Over the years I've met many worthy organizations that do so much for others. Thanks to Brooks & Company, I now have the opportunity to share some of my special findings with you. This column will highlight local charities, the work they do within our surrounding communities, and how you can get involved. I want to introduce you to a wonderful organization, Prevent Child Abuse Henry County. This group is the local chapter of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia and Prevent Child Abuse America. They help our local children have a better chance for a safe and healthy childhood through prevention programs, trainings and community activities. Their mission was summed up in one sentence in a speech I recently heard given by their organization's President, Lyric Schwandron. "We want to prevent abuse, not try pick up all of the pieces afterwards." Recently, I was given a unique opportunity to sit down and interview one of the backbones of Prevent Child Abuse Henry County, Robin Jones. By the end of this Q & A I believe it will be evident why I had to share their organization with you.
