Having recently finished my degree in Economics at Loughborough University , I am thrilled to be joining the BHA Development Programme and take a step forward in my career . Horse racing has been at the forefront of my dayto-day life for several years . Whether it be writing preview articles , recording topical podcasts , or travelling to Fontwell on a dull Sunday afternoon . After speaking to various BHA Development Programme alumni , it appeared the perfect place for me to enhance my knowledge of the game in many different capacities . I am looking forward to meeting the team at the Racehorse Owners Association , while providing a positive contribution to the future of racing - making the ownership experience as rewarding as it can be ! I believe our sport has an enormous opportunity to capture a young new audience and I hope to be influential in aspiring the next generation of horse racing fanatics .

I applied for the British Horseracing Authority Development programme as I have been fascinated by the sport since going to my first race day at the 2000 Guineas . Following racing was a new opportunity for me having previously aspired for a career in professional football . Racing is so appealing for a number of reasons , I love everything from the style and charisma of the people involved , to the atmosphere of a race day and the betting side . The beauty and elegance of the horses as well is just sublime and the detail shown by owners , trainers and grooms is second to none . I would love to pursue a career within the commercial world of racing having always had a keen interest in sales , growth and strategy and how we can continue to promote racing to wide audiences . Saying that , I ’ d love to own a champion racehorse one day and stand in the winners enclosure , I can imagine there ’ s not many better feelings . That ’ s the long-term goal . It is such a unique and exciting sport and I am really grateful for the opportunity from the BHA to start my career in racing and looking forward to getting started .
