U.S Government Reforms Towards Improving
Aid Effectiveness
The U.S government has made great strides and continues to make key improvements in implementing the Paris
and Accra agenda on aid effectiveness. Through ambitious
policy changes, the United States is seeking to improve development outcomes on the ground through a more strategic focus, greater transparency, and better accountability for
results.
The President’s Policy Directive
In September 2010, the White House unveiled the president’s policy directive on development (PPD). The PPD calls
for a stronger focus on sustainable development outcomes; a
modern organizational structure that elevates deve
