Coach opens Fifth Avenue "Coach House"
Coach is celebrating its 75th anniversary with big fanfare, opening its Fifth Avenue 20,000-square-foot flagship on Friday.
“With Coach House, we are celebrating our New York heritage and 75-year history of craftsmanship,” said Victor Luis, Chief Executive Officer of Coach, Inc. “The flagship features the full expression of our women’s and men’s collections including bags, small leather goods, footwear, and ready-to-wear, in addition to offering a full range of customization and leather services. Together with the opening of the adjacent Stuart Weitzman flagship store, we are bringing two global brands born in New York City to one iconic location.”
The flagship comprises three levels. The center of the retail space will feature a sculpture by Billie Achilleos, a 12-foot sculpture of Coach’s dinosaur mascot entirely constructed with Coach bags. The interior will also include custom-designed cabinetry, blackened steel staircases, and a vintage-inspired elevator.
The outside of the store will include a three-storey glass block façade and a mechanized conveyor belt with a rotating selection of Coach products.
he flagship will offer two customization services. The Made to Order Rogue allows customers to create a bespoke version of Coach’s Rogue bag. There are nine points of customization for this bag, resulting in one million possible variations. The Coach House Workshop will offer special monogramming and will house a complimentary leather care and cleaning. Both of these concepts are new to the Coach retail environment.
The store will be located at 685 Fifth Avenue in New York. It will open on November 18th, 2016.
