INITIAL Fragment the site’s area DESIGN IDEAS. From the exploration of materials in edition 3 of Bridging the Gap, the early stages of the design was inspired by the filling and transformation process in the mould of my chosen site. The process began by creating a temporary mould of the Royal Garrison Church, to then fill the shell with a chosen material to experiment with. Using water/ice and plaster of paris, both transformation processes gave me similar results creating fragmented cracks. This gave me the inspiration behind the fragmented design ideas, creating zones in the space and labelling each section. Limit the fragments to the interior Highlight chosen areas to zone Figure 48.
