CHALLENGES &  OUTCOMES     BG Trinidad and Tobago steadfast commitment to improving education in Guayaguayare is the catalyst for the implementation of the Read to Rise programme at Guayaguayare R.C. school where children were experiencing challenges in reading and writing. School doors opened for Bridge Foundation to enter on the month of October 2013 with the support of the principal and teachers to make educational learning improvements within the school and to address the following challenges and gaps: EXPECTED OUTCOMES Dearth of books at school and home Limited or no voluntary reading by children at school or home Required innovative methods in school to encourage reading Low student reading / literacy Levels Limited parent involvement and /or family reading activities at school or home Enhanced interest in reading Enhanced reading skills and motivation to read. Sharpened thinking skills. Converting imagination into written expression. Development and discovery of artistic skills. Self-awareness and confidence. Enhanced vocabulary.
