First Book donated books to Bridge Foundation as a way to achieve their
goal of elevating the quality of education for children in need of books.
Bridge Foundation received over 260 books and donated books to schools
participating in Read for the Record Day. Schools also received a
Jumpstart selected book and a Once Upon a Caribbean Time CD including
a compilation of folktale stories. First Book works with institutional
partners to end Illiteracy and to reach millions of children to experience
the joy of reading new books.

WITH A PURPOSE to Trinidad and
Tobago and delivered books for Bridge Foundation on behalf of First
Book USA. First book donations will also be donated to schools for other
literacy initiatives. Bridge Foundation and JetBlue will be working in
partnership to promote literacy and mentorship for children with JetBlue
st
representatives. On October 21 , Read for the Record Day, JetBLue
Airways representatives, Paul Parawan Jr., General Manager, Leon Roach,
AO Supervisor and Sherry Doodnath, AO Supervisor shared messages of
hope and the need to read to soar high in the sky to realize their wishes.
JetBlue gave out “ tiny clip wings” to students to memoralize their
exchange with students.
