Brewings Vol 37 Issue 3 | Page 7

Recap I wish I had started this column weeks ago when the memories of our spring show were still fresh. Let’s see if my mind can travel back in time. The weather this year was absolutely gorgeous! First time in quite a few years we’ve had nice weather and it really brought people to the show. We arrived at 9:00 a.m. and usual folks were already setting up their tables. There’s always good things that show up at this show, but this year the breweriana was exceptional. A rare New Ulm box (pictured on the cover), several Grain Belt outdoor signs and plenty of Hauenstein pieces, plus many other fine items too numerous to mention. One gal came looking for Hauenstein and left happy with several pieces. Mark Walker scored one of the Grain Belt outdoor signs and another one went home with one of our new members William Nelson from Hanska. New members David and John Borwerk donated a Schell’s Deer Brand sign which we auctioned off for the chapter. It’s now hanging in Indiana. Dave Berg gave a Brewmaster’s tour. The raffle was really good this year with lots of goodies to choose from. The lunch was awesome as always and the Schell’s beer was cold and tasty. If you weren’t there you missed a great show. Hopefully we can have that kind of weather again next year! Tom T. #28855 Page 7
