Schell’s Springding Show: The
weather was about as nice this
year as you would ever want.
The Peacocks were out
strutting and so were the
collectors. There was a large
turnout and in my view
probably the best attendance
the show has had for some
time. Some very nice Cold
Spring cones showed up as
well as some desirable pieces
from Kato brewing and
Hamm's. Also had a nice group
brewery tour from Mr. Berg,
plus a keg of Schell’s beer was
consumed along with plenty of
great food. Thanks to all who
contribute to this event. A fine
day indeed!!
Summit Show, held May
16th. The last 2 years this has
become a day for us to go
Brewery touring in the Twin
Cities. A friend of ours calls it,
the annual "Blitzkrieg of
Breweries Tour". There were 7
of us this year in two cars, plus
2 more from the show tagged
along for a bit. Of course, first
stop was Summit, Teri and I
visited and browsed while the
rest did the Summit tour. Then
by noon we were off on our this
year in two cars, plus 2 more
from the show tagged along for
a bit. Of course, first stop was Summit, Teri and I visited and browsed while the rest did the
Summit tour. Then by noon we were off on our e outdoor concerts at each place. At Wabasha
Brewing we spotted an old Schmidt logo painted on the side of a building, under it was its “ghost”
a Schmidt’s City Club painting!! Doing all this in one day is like achieving Nirvana, it is a higher
state of beery consciousness.
And finally, if I can be serious for one minute, I was confronted with a "gotcha question"
(those gotcha questions always getcha.) at Schell’s show, concerning running for President of
the North Star Chapter. My exploratory committee has thoroughly explored this issue.
Thoroughly. At this time I'm not making an announcement (this is a non-announcement) but,
make no mistake about it, all options will remain on the table. Till next time, Jay
