This year s spring show at Schell s Brewery was
again dampened by the weather. We ve had
poor weather for the last 3 years, especially the
last 2 years. But it was still a good show! Not a
bad crowd considering and everyone just
squeezed into the old tap room like the old
days when the show was in February. We had
some new members in attendance and many
items were sold. Mostly common cans and
trays and some other goodies too. It was nice
to see people get enthusiastic about 70 s and
80 s cans and similar other items. A neat little
neon that simply said Cold Beer was donated
as a special raffle prize. There were a number
of other nice beer signs and items on the raffle.
A lunch was available with pulled pork and
many donated sides from chapter
members including Janet Palmers famous
deviled eggs. Barry Travis brought a sour
beer from 1993 that certainly was sour!
We signed up several new members at the
show and we all had a great time
socializing about beer and adding things
to our collections. I personally picked up
an old Schell s neon that
needed some work. It s
in the shop and I m
anxiously waiting to see
it when it s restored and
lit up. Hopefully next
year better weather!
