Montana was next . Paul Bisom saw that we were making a trip out west and invited us to stop and visit his man cave in Helena , Montana . We looked on the map and it really wasn ’ t out of the way maybe an hour or so North of the Interstate and then straight over to Missoula , our destination for the day anyway . We rolled into Helena around 3:30 . Paul had to leave at five o ’ clock so we didn ’ t get time for a long visit but we did get to sit there and enjoy a couple of pounders of Hamm ’ s beer and enjoy his collection while sharing a few stories . As we were leaving , he recommended a place called Hap ’ s Tavern , a dive bar to stop and see . We gassed up the car and found the bar . Judy and I walked in and sat at the bar and ordered up . It was a cool little place . It was a dive bar . Apparently , they were getting ready for a big night because they had big coolers behind the bar filled with Rainier , Coors Light and Miller High Life . I enjoyed a couple of Rainier ’ s ; Judy had a Bloody Mary and the bartender turned us on to a brand of vodka called 360 Degree ’ s . It was Huckleberry vodka . It was so good we had to find some , and we did . In case you don ’ t know Montana is all about the Huckleberries . They ’ re smaller than a blueberry , maybe a little tarter . And apparently , they ’ re somewhat hard to come by because bears like to eat them and the only place they grow is in the wild . Next up Missoula . We pulled into town I suppose it was around seven o ’ clock . We checked into our hotel , and found a nice restaurant for supper and settled in for the night .
