Time now for another Double T ’ s Road Trip . Judy ’ s niece was getting married in September in Boise , Idaho . Obviously , we were invited to the wedding . So , we planned a trip out west . Through the course of the last year , I bought a Fitger ’ s Galaxy sign from Dave Unwin . He ended up getting it to Chicago . Even though we had planned to drive all the way to Seattle since we were going as far as Boise anyway to pick it up . We decided we would still go to Seattle , so we could see the Big Un , and then swing down through Oregon and visit with Mike and Kim Casey . Day one we took off on Wednesday , August 31 . With a goal of getting all the way to Sheridan , Wyoming . I will only talk mainly about the little parts of this trip that deal with beer since this is a Brewsletter . By the time we got to Wall Drug it was time for a break . So , we went downtown , it ’ s a bit of a tourist trap . The girls walked around and did some shopping and Judy , and I found a friendly little bar and grabbed a spot at the bar . And lo and behold , they had Grain Belt . I ordered a bottle and Judy got a cocktail . Enjoyed the atmosphere and a break from being in the car . I had another bottle of Grain Belt and then we found the girls . Everyone finished up their shopping and we got back underway . When we left with a goal of getting as far as Sheridan . Once we checked into the hotel , got the girls settled , Judy and I decided that it was a must to visit the Mint Bar . I had not been in the Mint Bar since about 1985 It ’ s a very cool place with a huge cowboy neon sign out front and the interior is full of stuffed animals , shake shingles with ranch brands and very cool woodwork . A must stop place if you like bars . Well , we got out of Grain Belt territory , so I drank some of the local beers and had a nice visit with the bartender and a few of the patrons . Then we headed back to the hotel . We were advised at the Mint bar that the best breakfast in Wyoming was at little diner , a dive called the Silver Spur so we took the advice and it lived up to its reputation in every way . It was definitely a dive , and the breakfast was very good .
