It ' s almost rolling into Spring and it cannot come soon enough for me. This edition of Brewings is late because my article was so late. So if you want to complain about this you should contact your President. Oh, wait a minute, that ' s me, so I guess you are out of luck! Since the last edition the Xmas party was held and what a party it was. The day started with the beer exchange which I think gets better every year. There was many, many beers to sample and a keg of Deer Brand was also drained in my garage that day too. The chapter gave away the Hamm ' s sceneorama to a local New Ulm drinking legend Wally Leick, congrats Wally! This sure was a great donation from the Miners and also very nice of the B & L bar in New Ulm for displaying and selling some tickets for the chapter. I also have to mention Murray and Jay drinking from the slop bucket again during the vintage beer tasting and the beer that was so old it smelled like a slough!
This year is Schell ' s 150th anniversary and they will have a number of events held throughout the year with a huge party to cap it off in September which will be a very tough month! The gift shop has put out some really nice apparel and collectibles. Myself and the Schell ' s Borderbatch Chapter would like to congratulate the Marti clan and wish them another 150 years of success and fine beer!
Throughout my one year reign as the King I am going to resolve to make a few more beer shows this year. I plan on making appearances at the North Star Chapters Springfest and the Nordlager show to
start with along with the Guzzle and our Chapters shows. Should be a great year. Speaking of fun people showing up at events, it is always good to see some local New Ulm, usually non-participating members coming out and throwing a few back with the regulars. Rollie, Willis, Tanley, I look forward to seeing you guys at Chapter events and cant wait to see the video Willis has from my birthday party, starring Rollie!
Thats all I have to say as the President of Vice. I ' ll take my leave with a quote from Mark Twain which is as true today as it was in his time. " Sometimes too much to drink is barely enough."
