Propaganda can be defined many ways, but one way to sum it up is that it “is one-sided communication designed to influence people’s thinking and actions” (Scott, 38). It was one of the ways the Nazis persuaded its people. Therefore, the people in charge of creating the propaganda had to not only be trusted, but also meet the requirements of the Nazis’ propaganda. Joseph Goebbles met both of these standards. He was the head of the propaganda writing (Holmes). Without Goebbles, the Nazis would not have been able to accomplish their major plan of action

At the time of World War I, Goebbles was unfit to fight in the war. He then developed hatred for the country, and turned to the Nazi Party. His intelligence was noticed by Hitler in 1926, which led to Goebbles leadership in the Nazis’ propaganda (Holmes). He spent most of his time during the war writing articles and speeches that would inspire the German people to resist the Allies. Goebbles was deeply committed to his job and to Hitler. He remained with Hitler until the end, when he killed himself in the Berlin Bunker (Joseph). Goebbles dedication to the Nazis not only lead him to becoming a man of importance, but also to his own destruction.

Along with being a trusted person by the Nazis, he also met the requirements of their propaganda. One of these requirements was that it had to restore German pride, and Goebbles was able to do this trough banners, parades, and the speeches he helped create (Holmes). Another requirement was all propaganda had to have encouraging messages about the Nazi party and all organizations dealing with it (Bytwerkk). With

these requirements and skillful writing, Goebbels was able to orchestrate a group of people from his desk.

Goebbles was a trusted friend of the Nazis. He brought them success by writing the propaganda. While Hitler may be viewed as the leader of destruction in World War II, Goebbles was a leader in persuasion. His propaganda was able to dictate the Germans without any assault, and this fact alone proves what an important man he was to the Nazi Regime.
