Syllabus
Key point 2: Follow the syllabus not lecturer!
Another thing you need to keep in mind is as you follow the
syllabi, the BSB will change certain parts of it throughout the year
thus requiring you to re-download the syllabi. Always remember
this because your school may not inform you of these changes
either because the BSB will not bother to tell BPTC schools or
your school could not be bothered to inform you.
During my time, there were major changes made in December
which I only became aware of by accident. At no point during this
period were my classmates and I informed by the school as to
these major changes. I ended up discarding about 50% of my
already made Criminal Litigation notes and had to make new
notes. Thankfully, when further minor changes were made around
March, the school did inform us of it.
A final piece of advice I would give in regards to this is do not
listen to lecturers who tell you this or that is in the syllabi when
there is nothing in the BSB syllabi outline that matches up with
what your lecturer is saying. The BSB has the final word on what
comes out in these externally assessed papers NOT your lecturer.
