It is time once again for us to discuss blah blah blah … Forget it! … This year we are having fun— Vegas Style— baby!
The Design Team has put together this year ' s professional development for Academy Week. We will meet together on the morning of the 15th and walk you through the rest of the start up for school this year. Suffice to say, we are modeling it after a Vegas-styled conference. If you are the type of person to jump straight to the end of the story to see“ who did it,” you are in for a surprise this year. Instead of giving everyone the last Friday before school as a Teacher Work day, the Design Team instead opted to use one of the Design elements: choice. Each day has been broken down into five slots, four for the convention and one for lunch. Some of the convention slots are mandatory, some are mandatory but offered on multiple times / days, the rest are completely up to you.
Each teacher will be allocated 22 slots and they should break down as such: 4 slots Working in your classroom
3 slots Working in your PLC – Your team leader will contact you with the times for your team by the end of the day on August 8 th
7 slots Mandatory Workshops 7 slots Optional Workshops – you can pick
