This tag could be given to Rotherham’s Chad Gaynor - pretty unheard of before his recent appearance in ‘Prizefighter’ but now the name on a lot of peoples lips - and he is confident he can live up to the billing.

Gaynor started his boxing life aged 12 and had his first official fight by the time he was 14. His fledgling career was largely inspired by Sylvester Stallone and the ‘Rocky’ series of films which he couldn’t get enough of, and pretty soon he was making the long trip by bus from Rotherham to Sheffield on his own just to train as his mum couldn’t drive.

‘I was determined to get to into boxing’ he says ‘but the nearest club I could find was Sheffield, so once I could I just went to training on my own’.
