PRECISION BL ANKS
Cut to the Chase
with Precision Blanks
ARE YOU tired of having to cut full-length bars into blanks
before machining them into parts? This process ties up your
shop’s most valuable resources with prep work when they
could be spending their time on higher-value operations
on your shop floor. Boston Centerless has enhanced its
value-added service capabilities by offering cut-to-length
precision blanks, eliminating the need for your employees
to manufacture blanks to feed your machining centers.
By: David Mersereau
Boston Centerless supplies precision blanks manufactured
to the customer’s exact specifications. Precision cuts are
performed on our customized cut blank center, allowing for close
tolerances and consistent quality with every cut.
SPECIFICATIONS:
By using cut-to-length precision blanks, OEMs, Contract
Manufacturers, and Precision Machine Shops can reduce their
cycle times, improve their yields, and increase productivity
while reducing material handling and scrap rates, thus
saving cost and lead-time. Precision blanks can be ordered
pre-heat treated and arrive to the customer ready for
processing, thereby minimizing required inventory space.

For critical Aerospace and Medical Device applications,
in-house material testing can be performed prior to cutting
blanks. Boston Centerless’ Material Validation Center performs
Ultrasonic Testing, Eddy Current Testing, and XRF Alloy
Verification. Laser marking for part traceability is also available.
Boston Centerless also offers custom machine-ready
precision flats. All flats are ground and milled, square and flat,
to tight tolerances. This enables your CNC machines to get right
to final machining without prep time. The close tolerances and
consistency from blank to blank eliminates material preparation,
reduces setup time, streamlines fixturing, reduces scrap, and
decreases overall cycle time, chip-to-chip.
Want to streamline your operations? Leave the cutting to
Boston Centerless and free up your most valuable resources.
