Organization

Few struggle at finding the perfect work-life balance more than moms do.

Running a business can be extremely demanding. New research shows nearly 40 percent of moms are the sole financial provider for their families. Compound the stress to make sure business revenue projections are met with the responsibilities of running a household and things can quickly get out of hand. , A quarter of the working moms surveyed said work obligations forced them to miss at least three significant events in their children's lives in the last year.

With so many new demands on moms, we believe the best way to balance everything is to stay organized, since the added structure will help save time, stress and mental energy.

We advise working moms to keep a joint calendar for business and family commitments to avoid double-booking, and to set up a schedule for chores, homework, family activities. and playtime.

Flexibility

Those who do maintain a successful balance between their work and home lives often point to their flexible schedules. As business owners we have the freedom to set our own work schedule.

However, many women we surveyed said even though they know they can move things around whenever they want, they still find it difficult to break routines once established.

It’s important to keep an open mind and prioritize how you will spend your day. Even though you may run a tight ship in the time department, we encourage you to grant yourself permission to change your schedule necessary.

At the end of the day if the work gets done and your family feels loved and properly tended to, that is really all that matters.
