"Referral marketing" is a method of creating sales opportunities through referral by another party. Referrals are personally recommended business prospects and sales leads. They typically come from someone who you have a relationship with in some capacity – a happy client, fellow member of a business organization that you may be involved in, or a colleague. Because of this, referrals are highly qualified and have a much greater chance of developing into successful business. Marketing your products or services to a network of fellow business individuals rather than clients directly creates these leads through referral.
