Zwide stormwater project
Safe crossing at last
Readers of the Herald newspaper in Port Elizabeth were
shocked to read recently that ‘killer rains caused widespread chaos and devastation in Nelson Mandela Bay,
leaving at least three people dead, 12 missing and
thousands homeless.”
SBA’s Port Elizabeth operation has been appointed to investigate the
stormwater problems in one of the flood-damaged low-lying areas in
Zwide, Nelson Mandela Bay.
A stormwater master plan has been compiled with the following factors
given careful consideration to meet the long term objectives of safe
and effective stormwater management in Zwide:
Val Kleyn (Ward 99 committee), Stephen Bell (Pick ‘n Pay), Clr Don Forbes
(Ward 99), Brian Britz (Johannesburg Roads Agency), Jason Webster
(SBA engineer), Bruce Herbert (Ward 99 committee) and Jeff Sithe (Pick’n
Pay) look on as Clr Forbes cuts the ribbon during the official opening of
the Braamfontein Spruit pedestrian bridge.
