Bosch Stemele develops community facilities for
Witzenburg Municipality
The Witzenberg local Municipality appointed Bosch Stemele
in 2012 to assist in the development of various community
centres and public facilities in the Western Cape towns of
Ceres, Wolseley and Prince Alfred’s Hamlet.
One of the projects entailed the development and construction
of a library in the town of Prince Alfred’s Hamlet, which received
funding from the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
This project was significant as it was the first library facility
to be constructed in the town’s history. Despite challenges
related to the lack of available local contractors and budgetary
constraints, the project was successfully implemented in
accordance with the budget and programme, opening the
library to the public on 14 November 2014.

Another project included the construction of a community
hall in Pine Valley, Wolseley. In this instance, Bosch Stemele
helped the community build a place for social gatherings and
networking that would ultimately assist in strengthening the
social fibre of the area.
All these projects necessitated that Bosch Stemele work
closely with the Witzenberg Municipality and the Western
Cape Government to develop the most appropriate building
solutions to meet the needs of previously disadvantaged
communities. We have been privileged in assisting our clients
to meeting their social development needs.

• Structuring solutions to raise finance for projects and the
subsequent capital raising process; and
• Invest and manage investments in strategic projects.
One particular project underway involves Bosch Capital
partnering with Cresco Project Finance to assist in the early
stage development of a biomass renewable energy project
in South Africa. The anticipated capital expenditure for this
project is in excess of R1bn.
Together, Bosch Capital and Cresco Project Finance
have prepared detailed financial models, economic and
commercial viability assessments and provided a framework
for development fund raising and joint development by
all stakeholders. Bosch Projects has completed a detailed
technical pre-feasibility report in order to advance the project
further down the development life cycle.
