It participates in ERASMUS+ projects and was the first school in Portugal to have an American Shelf, a resource centre for American studies, due to the partnership established with the US Embassy in Lisbon. As a result, the school receives the visit of American diplomats that come to give lectures to students about the US and there are study visits to the US Embassy in Lisbon. AECS was invited to participate in the American Football Without Barriers Camp, which took place in Cidade do

Integrated in the Youth Parliament activities the school cluster usually receives Portuguese diplomats that explain how the parliament works.

AECS students usually participate in national contests, with good overall results: Youth Parliament, Spelling Bee, Entrepreneurship, Drawing competitions, European Language Label, Inter-school competitions, etc. There are a lot of study visits throughout the year, in Portugal and abroad: Spain, France, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium.
