own natural moisturiser!

ydrating the skin is extremely important in the cold
climate so it's crucial to have a good moisturiser,
which works well to keep skin smooth and supple.
Unknown products may aggravate skin woes causing
itching and redness. So this time, how about whipping
up a few of your own homemade lotions that will give
you a glow this season...
Lime juice and honey
Honey is a natural moisturiser and lime juice has citric
acid, which reduces bacteria in facial pores.
What you need
Honey — 2 tsp
Coconut oil or olive oil —½ tsp
Lime juice — ½ tsp
How to make
Mix the ingredients.
Apply. Rinse off after 10 minutes with warm water.
Can also be kept in the fridge for two days.
Oatmeal, Alove vera and almond
While almonds have vitamin E, oatmeal is an anti-oxidant and aloe vera keeps skin glowing and youthful and
protects it from harmful UV radiation.
What You Need
Aloe vera gel — 2 tbsp
Cooked oatmeal - ¼ cup
Almond oil — 1 tbsp
Honey — 1 tbsp
How to make
Mix the aloe gel, oatmeal and almond oil in a bowl.
Add the honey and whip.
Rosewater-Glycerin
Rosewater has several skin benefits. It is anti-inflammatory and a great toner. Glycerin helps replenish water
from the skin leaving it fresh and glowing.
What you need
Rose water
Glycerin
How to make
Always mix two parts of rose water to one part glycerin
to make the lotion. Store this in a sterilised bottle and
refrigerate it.
Cocoa Butter
Pale yellow cocoa butter is one of the best-known skin
smoothers. It is also high in antioxidants and can reduce
wrinkles and ageing marks.
What you need
Cocoa butter — 3 tbsp
Coconut oil — 1 ½ tsp
Steamer
Mixing bowl
Rose oil — for fragrance
How to make
Mix the cocoa butter and the coconut oil in a bowl.
Warm the ingredients
Cool and apply to the face.
Peaches and cream
There's nothing like slathering some cold fresh cream on
the skin. Avoid this one if you have acne, though.
