And it comes with the added perk of being an amazing antioxidant. 7. Gain some muscle If you add weight training or resistance exercises into your workout routine, you’ll start to build muscle. And muscle burns more calories than fat. 8. Drink more water Water is an essential part of the energy burning process of your metabolism. Drink enough water and it will work more effectively. We can’t highlight this point enough. 9. Spice it up Eating spicy foods containing hot spices like chilli peppers, black pepper, ginger and hot mustard is another way to kick-start your metabolism.
