4. Sleep
Not getting enough sleep can derail your metabolism. If your
body is too tired to do its normal functions, like burning calories,
your metabolism will automatically be lowered.
5. Move!
Be active whenever possible and as much as you can. It’ll help your
metabolism tremendously. And if you do it in the morning you’ll
benefit from speeding up your metabolic rate for the whole day.
6. Drink green tea
Hold on, we’re not saying eliminate coffee. But it has been proven
that green tea has the ability to increase your metabolic function.
And it comes with the added perk of being an amazing antioxidant.
7. Gain some muscle
If you add weight training or resistance exercises into your
workout routine, you’ll start to build muscle. And muscle burns
more calories than fat.
8. Drink more water
Water is an essential part of the energy burning process of your
metabolism. Drink enough water and it will work more effectively.
We can’t highlight this point enough.
9. Spice it up
Eating spicy foods containing hot spices like chilli peppers, black
pepper, ginger and hot mustard is another way to kick-start
your metabolism. These foods work by increasing your body
temperature and burning calories.
