Cellphones carry 10 times more bacteria than toilet seats
Cellphones and other gadgets have more germs than your toilet seat. Research states that this is a result of the fact that these gadgets are rarely cleaned. However, the amount of germs on a phone isn’ t the problem – it’ s the sharing of phones between people. Without sharing, each phone carries just one set of germs, and won’ t get its owner sick. The problem with phones is that we’ re in constant contact with them, and they spend a lot of time in close proximity to our faces and mouths. And because it’ s an electronic device, most people are hesitant about cleaning them.
This is also the case with remote controls, which are also often used by people when they’ re sick. Remotes are more frequently shared, so they’ re usually even worse than phones for spreading germs. Other common culprits that are hotspots of unseen disease include office phones, shopping trolleys, escalator arms and elevator buttons. To limit the spread of diseases from phones or other objects, try not to share them, or wipe them down with antibacterial wipes.
Have a good cry to get rid of toxins
There are many advantages to having a good cry. Crying does not only mentally cleanse us; it can cleanse our body too. Tears that are produced by stress help the body get rid of chemicals that raise cortisol, the stress hormone. A study conducted by Dr William H Frey II, at the St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Centre, found like other exocrine processes, including exhaling, urinating and sweating, toxic substances are released from the body when we cry. Several of the chemicals present in emotional crying are the protein prolactin, hormones and the endorphin leucine-enkephalin, which reduces pain.
