The couple wasted no time in taking advantage of the community ’ s amenities . “ We immediately joined the Sweetwater Boat Club , the Bonita Bay Club , and the Beach Club !” Ann exclaims . “ It ’ s too bad we ’ re not golfers , because the courses here are incredible .”
One of their favorite activities is boating , and the Sweetwater Boat Club offers everything they need for a day on the water . “ This option is so much less expensive than the cost of owning your own boat ,” Ann explains . “ All we have to do is schedule a time for a boat . I pack a lunch , and we just show up . The boat is clean and ready for us to take out ,” says Ann . When on the water , they enjoy the spectacular views , the sea breeze and the feeling of relaxation that boating provides . “ We just love it ,” she says . The couple have already reserved a boat for their kids and grandchildren for Thanksgiving .
Other activities that Ann and Dave enjoy include playing Pickle Ball , working out , biking , and hiking . “ We especially enjoy taking walks to Estero Bay Park ,” Ann says . “ There ’ s a pier there , so we love watching the sunset with a little wine .”
Since the start of the pandemic , the couple has spent all of their time within the gated community . “ We feel safer because we know they do it right ,” says Dave . Consequently , they enjoy the variety of dining options within Bonita Bay . “ We like the 55th Hole for its informal , outdoor seating ,” says Ann . “ We also like The Breezeway at the Sports Center .”
Ann and Dave agree that they made the best decision to buy in Bonita Bay . “ It truly offers everything we want ,” Ann asserts . “ The people are warm and friendly . We love the fact that the population is so diverse . It ’ s not just a 55 + community . We see lots of kids , teenagers , and younger couples here . It ’ s an active place , and that ’ s just the way we like it .”
