11. EG Holmes - Would You Stay If I Write A Love Song feat.
David Vanden Enden 3:53 - EG is back and Sister-Grouch will
be really happy when I share these tracks with her. This song
starts out quite mellow, then the tempo picks up. EG’s killer
voice blows the roof off and the smoking guitar sends in into
orbit. This is EG doing what he does best, that is he ROCKS.
Okay, this is a love song and the lyrics are sensitive, which I
am sure will not be lost on Sister-Grouch, but for me those
pipes and that massive, wickedly played solo are just too cool!
Dude, even your love songs smoke. Well, done!
12. Studeo - Can't Stop Loving You 3:38 - Studeo is back and I
am glad they are. This is a very pretty song with a great guitar line. The band absolutely hits a
groove. Slow dancers at proms across America will love this song. The thing that sets it apart
from many other slow dance songs is her voice. The vocals are a pleasure to listen to. Give this
song a listen and I am sure you will agree. Don’t stop listening though or you may just miss
some outstanding fret work on the lead guitar. Overall, this is a
good song by a very good band.
13. Frank Piombo - Our Love feat. Angelo Uccello & Angela
Marcone 4:13 - This is interesting. The beginning piano run
made me think this was going to be swinging jazz track, but
then the vocals came in and I can hear this song should be a sta-
ple on any mellow-rock station. There is a definite 1970s vibe
going on here. The horn work is particularly nice. All in all, this
is a very pretty song.
14. The Corridors – Grace 3:56 - The rain sound effect is kind of
cool and the piano chords give an ominous sound. Then some-
thing really cool happens. his voice comes in and I am reminded
of U2 back when they were a good band. Yeah yeah I know a lot
of people still like U2, but
personally, I think their last good album was The Unforgettable
Fire. That is exactly the album I could imagine this song being
on. The vocals are intense and moving and the music is
unexpected, just the way U2 blew our minds before they became
“Rock Stars”. Overall, this is an excellent track. Give it a listen
and I think you will agree.
So, what is the bottom line? Bongo Boy has once again made clear that a love song is a song first
and about love second. The lyrics on all of these songs are sensitive and even heart touching, but
it is the music that stands out in my mind. The music is good, very good. This album would
make a fine addition to any collection. - The Grouch | in the Rockies
