5. Trouble: The WICKED guitar is back. Good God, I am reminded of old Judas Priest. The
vocals sound really good and I can just see the singer strutting across the stage as he belts out the
lyrics. All the while, the band is in a tight groove that will make any headbanger smile. The thing
that is really nice about this song is that the breaks are sometimes fairly unexpected; I like the
fills their drummer lays down. Finally the bass player speaks up and takes a lead for a few bars,
before the guitar comes back in with a massive jam! Simply put: This is the perfect,
headbanging, hard rock song.
6. For some reason I am
reminded of Y&T or Michael
Shekner, if the tempo were a
tad faster this would remind
me of Accept. Once again,
their fret master is shedding
and the drummer is keeping up
with him. It sounds to me that
every time the guitar blasts off
the drummer switches to
grooving with the guitar and
then he goes back to locking in
with the bass on the chorus.
The end result is a song that
just doesn’t let up. Really, as
massive a player as the
guitarist is, listen to those
drums and tell me you are not
impressed.
7. Nothing Left to Gain: YES! The slow grinding rhythm in the intro serves to accentuate the
grinding, blistering, yet soulful guitar. The chorus comes and the vibe gets a bit heavier, then
comes the mandatory sonic boom in which the guitar simply explodes. The vocals match the
intensity of the guitar, but there is no denying this is the ax man’s song! I am truly impressed!
I would LOVE to see their live show. Preferably from back stage so I can watch the drummer do
his thing up close. Excellent song!
8. Lonely Road: I dig the heavy electrified acoustic guitar. Then the electric lead comes in and
lays down some nice licks. I like the vocals on this track. Similarly to track #4, I am getting a
real sense of exactly who the singer is with this song. When the vocals hit this groove some-thing
magical happens to this band. They go from an excellent metal band that can make a ton of noise
to excellent musicians who demonstrate a verticality that many metal bands lack. Once again,
their drummer was laying down a killer beat that fits perfectly with this song - really ex-cellent
work guys.
