Test of Time by ANGELES Is “Not For The Faint Of Heart”!
Hej America!
The other day my friends at Bongo Boy records sent
me a preview copy of the new album by Angeles
which is entitled Test of Time. (Angeles are an old-
school hard rock band that remind me of the stuff I
listened to back in 1982. Think Rainbow, with
Ronnie James Dio on vocals or The Scorpions. This
album is not for the faint of heart. If you do not like
LOUD blistering guitars and a drummer who plays
with the rock solid beat of Phil Rudd and the bril-
liance of John Bonham then this album may not be
for you. Having said that, if you like to rock and
rock hard, then you will without a doubt enjoy this
album!
1. Not Here to Play: It simply does not get any
harder than this. From the very beginning of the
track the guitar is audacious and in your face! I dig
it. The drummer is laying down a powerful groove
that the rest of the band picks up on. I am
reminded both of old Dio and to a lesser ex-tent
Poison. Above all this track has 80s metal written
all over it. Randy Rhoads must be looking down
with a big smile on his face. The concert ending is
cool and I can imagine the band extends this song
quite a bit live.
