Movies such as Don 2 (which is shot in Berlin) features lead actor Shahrukh Khan jumping over 300 ft off the Berlin TV tower. Then there is Ishkq in Paris filmed exclusively in France and at the Eiffel Tower. In fact, the Queen of England also allowed shooting to take place inside the Buckingham Palace for Veer starring Salman Khan. All this clearly shows how much respect and acknowledgement Indian films have garnered. Festivals are held which celebrate and showcase Bollywood films. There are many examples of this such as the Berlin Film Festival, which featured movies like My Name Is Khan, Cannes with Devdas, Lagaan was Delhi’s entry to the Academy Awards and it was also nominated for the Oscars. The International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) are held in countries around the world celebrating the success of Bollywood. They were first held in the Millennium Dome of the UK, and then in South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Netherlands, UAE, Thailand, Macau, Sri Lanka, and our very own Canada. It was a star studded event and an enormous success.
