1972
PAKEEZAH
The movie took about fourteen years to complete (from its initial launch in 1958) due to various issues. Some of which include the composer and cinematographer's deaths, the re-shooting of the black & white portions in colour, then filming it all once again with the use of the Cinemascope lens, and the deteriorating relationship between the director Kamal Amrohi and the lead actress Meena Kumari which caused filming to end in 1964. Four years later the shooting was picked up again, however Meena was critically ill due to her struggle with alcoholism. This led to a body
double being used for the dance scenes. A few weeks after the release of the film Meena died, and the movie which was not at first received well, went on to become a hit and gained cult status.
