A Little Dream
By Christina Fatayri Grade 7
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Elizabeth. Elizabeth was ten years old and she loved the circus, and she had a dream to become a part of it. When she becomes older, -Elizbeth and her mother moved to New York City. She was the only child for her parents. Elizabeth’ s father wasn’ t with them, because he was living in Canada for his job. Elizabeth used to see her dad three months a year. She had friends at school who know about her dreams and encourage her.
Elizabeth was clever and genius in class. She was five years old, when her father left to Canada for the first time. One day she got her something she could have fun with it. He bought her a swing and she hanged it in her backyard. Every day, when Elizabeth finishes her homework, she runs out of the house to her backyard to make moves on her swing that was like her best friend. Her parents loved her talent and encouraged her to watch circus shows on TV all night long. But, she never saw a live show. One day, when her dad was at home and she was watching a circus show, he told her ”: Today, we are going to a real live circus show ”. when Elizabeth heard that, the words couldn’ t tell how much she was happy and excited. Elizabeth wore the best clothes she had. When they arrived at the show, there were so many people that Elizabeth couldn’ t see her shadow. So, her parents lost her in the crowd! And when the show was over, she couldn’ t go anywhere. But, she had one choice, to join the circus.
Thirteen years passed by and Elizabeth was so beautiful than before and she grew up in the -cicus and had more knowledge than before. Moreover, she was professional, as she dreamed to be. Elizabeth’ s parents were looking for her for years. Her dad stopped working in Canada. Her mother couldn’ t do anything even cooking or doing the house chores. Their house was full of sadness when they lost their very own lonely daughter. The circus had a festival at New York City. The parents came to see if their beloved daughter was there, and there she was! Elizabeth was doing the moves that she learned, on a giant elephant! When her parents saw her they were full of pride. When the show was over, Elizabeth’ s parents ran to see her. They hugged her and said ”: Oh my dear Elizabeth, we were looking all over for you … we are very proud of you my angel!” I’ m so sorry I left you behind for the circus! I’ ll never do it again, I promise ”! Elizabeth replied.
Years went by, and Elizabeth lived with her parents and had a really good life. Her parents weren’ t able to do any jobs, so Elizabeth was working in the circus to support her family.
