Survive Your Siblings During the Holidays!
Getting along with siblings during the holidays can be a real challenge. Brothers
and sisters can fight over just about anything…anything. Here are a few tips to
help you find some common ground and keep the peace.
1. Cool Down
When you get into a heated argument, step away
and take some time by yourself to cool down. After
you cool down, go back and say, “I’m sorry. Can we
talk it out now?”
2. Spend one-on-one t ime
wit h each ot her
How can you have a good relationship with some-
one if you don’t spend time with them? Be involved
with their lives. Find out what they like and learn
more about it. When you spend time together,
you’ll find you have a lot more in common than you
think.
3. Apologize firs t
Take the high road and always be the first to apolo-
gize. Be mature, even when your siblings aren’t.
I'm Sorry
4. Pick your battles
Some things just aren’t worth fighting over. Learn to
let it go sometimes. It’s as simple as that…pick your
battles.
