• Boise State and Idaho State Schools of Nursing sign
MOU for graduate nursing education. Boise State
agrees to start MS level Adult-Gerontology Nurse
Practitioner program and MS to DNP program.
• SON hosted eight students from Hangzhou, China
• 50% of faculty hold doctoral degrees, School has
two research joint appointments.
• NCLEX pass rates continue to be over 95%.
• Dr. Suzan Kardong-Edgren named the second Jody
DeMeyer Endowed Chair.
• Held first National Simulation conference on the
Boise State campus co-hosted with the National
League for Nursing.
• 25% of faculty receive certification as Nurse Educators through the National League for Nursing.
• Fifteen students participated as teaching or research
assistants with our faculty.

• Approval from the State Board of Education and
the State Board of Nursing to begin the Masters
level Adult Gerontology Nursing Practitioner program and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
Program planning completed.
• First Doctoral students admitted to the School of
Nursing.
• Continued with four faculty joint appointments in
research or practice.
The accomplishments of the faculty and staff in the
School of Nursing have been amazing. I could not be more
proud.
I am bittersweet facing this new chapter in my career. I
cannot imagine a better place to have been able to impact
the lives of so many nurses in the Treasure Valley and beyond than through the School of Nursing. I have been so
blessed to have worked with such amazing people.
I look forward to staying connected with the School as
an emeritus faculty, cheering from the sidelines, and being
the School’s biggest advocate! Thank you to each of you
who have made such a positive difference in my life and
the lives of all of our students, staff, and faculty.
