I’m informing you on 3 helpful marketing tips for better results in hopes to have a successful career: 1. QUALITY First and foremost, you need to be sure that your songs are at its best quality, your competition is not just who is around you, but also every other artist in the industry; both major and independent. People that have never heard you before are used to hearing well mixed and produced music, so investments in mixing and mastering is crucial. 2. EPK & WEBSITE You need to also be sure that your branding is up to par. Looking professional is key, you need to have a website, e-mailing list, professional photos, bio, and any information regarding your shows and general news about yourself. You are now a brand when you declare yourself as an artist and you need to treat yourself as one. Having a website will allow you to control your fans and view your traffic as an artist. The key rule is brand awareness. You need to have promotional material about your brand and yourself to market. If you have blog placements, or you’re featured in articles, you need to give potential new fans somewhere they can reach you along with your social media information. 3. GOALS, DEADLINES, & A BUDGET Have you ever known anyone that has achieved great success in the industry? I’m sure one key characteristic you see in them that is synonymous to every other successful artist is that they are always BUSY! You see them making move after move and completing goals. This is because they are actually working towards achieving little step-by-step goals that will lead to the ultimate goal (which is different for every artist). You’ll find that when you map out your goals and successfully complete each one, before you know it, your peers will begin noticing you and you will start to see progress in your career. Between studio time, publicists, and other promo services, you’ll find that you’re spending a lot of money, time and energy. It is crucial to know your expenses and manage your money towards these expenses for the better of your career. An artist ALWAYS has a budget. No matter what. Invest in yourself. As you can see now you have your work cutout for you. It’s not just about recording music, this is a given since you’re an ARTIST in the MUSIC industry, you are expected to be recording and perfecting your craft when you’re not handling business.
