3 GREAT MAR So you put in all this time, money, and effort working on a body of work (Mixtape, EP, Album etc.) but you release it and you wonder why you only have 300-400 views, nobody is talking about your project, and before you know it you’ve let another project fall through the cracks and get overlooked in this Oversaturated music industry. I’m sure the first question is “what am I doing wrong?” Then you start thinking “Well maybe I didn’t promote it enough!” Then you start flooding your timeline on FB, Instagram, Twitter, and still don’t get the results you’re looking for. At this point you’ve probably been doing this year in- year out. You know you have the talent, you know you’re capable of doing this, now all of your peers are looking at you like you’re wasting your time. You get those “rapping isn’t for everyone”, “go get a regular job”, “you think you out of the 8,000,000 other people rapping will make it?”. “Make it”...See the mistake that you’re making here is that unlike the NBA, or NFL, where there is limited space, the industry only has a select few people that “make it”. The music business like any other business, is open for anyone to play and just about anybody is fair game as long as you have the work ethic and resources. Where you as the artist are messing up at is you have no strategic plan on releasing your projects. You believe that maybe somehow you’ll get “discovered” or “signed”. I’ll let you know today, that as long as you continue down this path, you’re leading yourself down a road to failure and a DEAD music career.
