Welcome to the
P RODUCERS
CLUB
In
the past we’ve featured some dope DJ’s/Producers and we
think it’s ‘bout time we give recognition to them in every
issue. In this new generation of Hip Hop, great producers
don’t get enouhg credit and because of this, we’d like to
welcome them to the Producers Club.

LNG: I love sampling. I literally
sample everything. Even when
people can’t tell it’s a sample.
When it comes to sampling I
usually listen to vinyls for an hour
or so. I try to start with a clean
slate. No expectations at all. The
secret is finding a vinyl that everyone else doesn’t have. I stay in the
dollar bin because those are typically the vinyls that people couldn’t
sell for whatever reason. You do
have to be careful though because
24.
those can also be the vinyls that
they had 10 copies of and EVERYONE has it.
I try to find instruments that move
people. Music is all about emotion
and unfortunately I’m not the best
musician, but I know the musicians
on those records who played with
feeling and that’s what I want to
carry on with my music.
I think the main challenge I set
for myself is to try and not have a
”certain sound”. As a producer,
my job is the compliment the artist
and make a marriage with the
music.
Now there are some things I do on
a consistent basis that gives my
music familiarity, but I try not to
make the same beat twice.
I can go from hip-hop to pop
without people realizing I’m on the
beat and I love that. I don’t want to
be put in a box. I remember when
every producer was on their run
