NCARE TIPS
Art and Story by Sammy C.,
5. Th ou gh t f u l m ak eu p
As fun as it may be for young girls to discover
the world of makeup, it is important to
understand the side effects of it. For personal
experience, I can say that it is better to wait to
wear makeup until you actually need it. While
you?re young, your skin is still changing, and
adapting to not only the environment but also
the hormones. Makeup can dry your skin, and
it can even develop bacteria if it is not
removed properly.
However, if you will be wearing makeup,
choose creams and liquid makeup that will
hydrate your skin, rather than powder, that
will tend to dry it. Never forget to remove your
makeup completely at the end of the day, and
wash your face after removing it; this will
prevent any bacteria from entering your
pores.
6. Be car ef u l w it h w h at you eat
All that you eat will be reflected through your
skin. If you eat yellow/orange foods, your skin
will develop a tanned pigmentation. If you eat
greasy/oily foods, your skin will tend to
produce that excess oil in the form of pimples
and acne. Provide your body with the right
amount of fruits and vegetables that give you
the needed mount of vitamins and minerals.
Avoid eating fast food, sugary drinks, and
candy that doesn?t really provide anything
beneficial to your skin.
7. Don?t bot h er you r pim ples
As tempting as it is to try to pop your pimples,
it can be even more terrible if you touch them.
With some you will have to wait until they are
completely ready to come out; however,
others simply appear and will fade away with
time, but if you touch them you will only hurt
yourself. Also, if you touch them they can be
prone to develop bacteria and infection.
8. Avoid an y bact er ia an d in f ect ion s.
Do not ever touch your face without washing
your hands. Throughout the day you touch a
lot of things at home and outside. If you touch
your face with dirty hands you can develop a
rash or allergy to whatever infected your skin.
Keep clean anything that often touches your
face. Clean the screen of your phone, wash
your pillowcases more often, and clean your
glasses/sunglasses before putting them on.
9. Sk in Flexibilit y.
Did you know you also need to stretch your
face muscles, and not only your body
muscles? To prevent early wrinkles and saggy
skin, take some time, even while you are doing
something else, to stretch your forehead,
mouth and any face muscles that you can
stretch, by doing weird faces. It not only is fun,
but also beneficial. Furthermore, laughter is
definitely the best medicine, not only for your
brain, but also for your skin.
