Cookies, Santa, and fantasies
Family, friends, and fruit cakes too
Sweaters and stockings, woohoo!
Above is the list of things to do,
Things that ?define? Christmas, true?
So many different things to buy.
The bills are flying sky high!
Are we missing something here?
Tell me, is it about a reindeer?
What?s this day all about?
Is it about letters written out?
?Ho! Ho!? the mall?s Santa says?
No! No!? I cry inside my head.
The point of Christmas has been lost.
The truth and light aside are tossed.
Not movies, or presents, not even trees,
Not dolls, or baseballs, or boxes of teas.
A love like no other, a baby, a child.
A gracious savior, and mercy not mild
The meaning has been lost over the years.
This sad truth brings me many tears.
Forget the fancies and fairytales
Remember the true king, Jesus is hailed!
