There is going to be a toy drive and a mitten drive soon here at Jefferson Elementary. Both of these events will take place this month, in December. In addition, both of them are for wonderful causes. December is a giving month, and these events are going to exhibit that. Furthermore, these drives are important for various reasons.
The mitten drive’s purpose might be what you think it is. It’s purpose is to collect mittens, or gloves, to give to people in need. These mittens, or gloves, will have to be in a new condition
for the people they’re donated to. This drive is in December because this is when winter begins. This is why it would make more sense to donate these items in winter, rather than fall. Either way, the people who get these generous donations will be thankful for these accessories keeping them a little warmer.
The toy drive’s purpose might be guessable too. It will collect toys to give to kids who aren’t getting toys. Similar to the mitten drive, the things you donate will have to be brand new, in packaging still. This drive is in December because there are a lot of holidays that involve giving presents to people. So, December is a fitting month for this drive. If you do donate try to remember to think of ages up to 16. Just because they aren’t a kid doesn’t mean they don’t deserve a present. But, of course all donations would be appreciated from the people that get them.
Overall, these drives are for important causes and any donation would be appreciated. I personally will donate when both of the drives come around. Both of these events are happening now at Jefferson, in the giving month of December. I hope you will keep in mind that these are for good causes and that everything will be valued.
