These Faithful Servants; Great Entrepreneurs Will Teach You The Power Of Idea Implementation By Gabriel Omin Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank. - Proverbs 22: 29 (NIV) Entrepreneurship is about solving problems (either rendering a service or making available a product) and extracting economic value from that transaction. Nigerians are entrepreneurial in nature but it always seems Finance CLINIC that the opportunities are not in-country. I disagree. But I must admit that the terrain is tough. The Jason Njokus, Tayo Bamiduros, Mark Essien, Seni Sulyman et al of this world will tell you so. However let me tell you about 5 fellas I have come in contact with in the recent past that give me hope. Adadu, Kaiza, Kombi, Ndaka and Zaze (not real names but real characters); five people that I know whose faithfulness and attention to the task at hand has made them useful to themselves. And others. They have poured themselves into the “little” that their hands have found to do and have made something out of it. These are their real life stories: Adadu is a carpenter. About 7 years ago I needed some woodwork done and I stumbled upon him by happen-chance. For me, it was one of those “fix A, B and C and take your pay” transactions as I had become weary of workmen. But it turned out that he did impress me. He was on time and did a great job. His interpersonal skills were strong and he knew how to explain in details his costing template. A year down the line, I gave him a bigger job. Again he delivered on time. On point. Then a visitor misses the house he was supposed to go to and gets into my living room (he thought my house was where he was heading). I met my visitor and we both realized he was at the wrong house. This was like one of those moments where Simeon (Luke 2:27) wandered into the temple and met Christ being dedicated (he was there by mistake). My “visitor” spoke glowingly about my chairs and wondered where I got them (thinking I had imported them). I gave him Adadu’s contact. He was surprised that Adadu lived nearby. Again Adadu impressed him.
