BUT DJ TTB DOES IT
BETTER
You must have watched the ever dapper DJ TTB on MTV Base,
heard his mixtapes or followed him on social media but we
bet you didn’t know his real name - Tochukwu Ananti. The
talented young man is the biggest DJ out of Abuja and one
of Nigeria’s most influential entertainers. Add his talent to
the handsome face and DJ TTB, who is happily married to
Gwen with two beautiful Children (a girl and a boy), is a sure
winner! He currently co-owns a club called LIT Lounge and
it’s located at Treasure Suits Abuja. Before owning his club,
TTB had previously worked for Cool FM, The Bank Abuja and
Play Lounge. BlueInk caught up with him and he chatted
about his journey, the pressures of his career as a celebrity DJ;
his club LIT Lounge and Family
On His Career
I can’t even tell my whole story in 10 pages (think I need to“
write a book) but it took deliberate and precise effort to get to
where I am today. I pretty much started in my finals first as an
enthusiast till I came to Abuja in search of greener pastures,
then I realize I could make a fortune from this passion of
mine. DJ-ing is the only thing I’ve done since I finished school
in 2007. If I had known i t will take me this far, I would have
.studied music in school instead of industry chemistry
His job involves a lot of standing and late nights but his vibe
did not reveal any form of tiredness so we had to ask how he
copes with the stress. With a funny smirk, he admitted that
DJ-ing is the easiest job he could ever do despite the people’s
misconception that the job is an unserious profession. He
went ahead to point out that in the last decade, DJs around
the world have proven this misconception wrong as the
profession has taken a whole new dimension. “These days DJs
are CEO’s and entrepreneurs and soon enough we will have a
DJ president,” TTB said Although the DJ TTB brand is huge at
the moment, all of this did not happen by chance. As a DJ with
an eye on the bigger picture, TTB made a deliberate effort to
also venture into Video DJ-ing which eventually got him his
biggest job (yet) with MTV Base
He said, “I started my Video DJ-ing career in 2010 with my
friend VDJ Flex. It took deliberate and precise efforts to get
to where I am today. I built the brand by always focusing on
improving my game and pushing my limits and money has
never been my focus. The high point of my career was when I
