The art community is vibrant and thriving, especially during the summer months. There are art galleries galore, many with new exhibits by local artists. The Delafield Art Center shows off the art of community members, including student pieces. There are also many opportunities for the performing arts.
Watching a show at the Summer Stage of Delafield, located in Lapham Peak, is a magical experience. The stage is home to different performances by youth and community theater groups as well as musical productions. This year the stage is excited to welcome Country Music (June 6), Irish Music and Dance (July 18), a magic show (July 19) as well as Talley’s Folly, Don’t Drink the Water and more! The 2014 Delafield Block Party is Friday and Saturday, July 11-July 12. The festival features live music from local bands The Toys and the Love Monkeys. The event is catered by local restaurants. For a similar event visit the OKauchee Lions Days, June 27-June 29. The Pewaukee Beach Party is June 20-June 21. The event is also the Lake Country Clean Water Festival. The street is blocked off for the two-day festival filled with entertainment, music, food and of course, water activities.

For music lovers, look no further than “The World’s Largest Music Festival,” located at Henry Maier Festival Park, only 45 minutes east on 94. Summerfest headliners include Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Brad Paisley, Outkast, Dave Matthews Band, Zac Brown Band, Mötley Crüe, Fall Out Boy & Paramore and thousands more musical acts. Summerfest is from June 25-29 and July 1-6. Even though the traffic can be frustrating there are fun activities guaranteed to please every family.
On the way downtown, stop at Miller Park to catch a Brewers game! The baseball team plays many games throughout the summer, tickets are reasonably priced, some seats are as low as $9. For more action on the diamond the Land O’ Lakes baseball league has games on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at various locations. The LOL West League plays at Nixon Park, Monches Recreations Park, North Lake Firemen’s Park and more convenient locations.
