The Blount County Public Library( BCPL) has a great fall and winter programming season lined up for 2025! When the BCPL develops its programming, it is shaped and inspired by your input, so we want to start with a huge thank you for sharing your aspirations with us.
CHILDREN In September, our Children’ s Programming returns with all your favorites: Little Learners Storytime on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 and 11 a. m., STEAMKids on Thursdays at 4 p. m., Free Create Fridays from 10:30 a. m. to 3:30 p. m.— and that’ s not even all the regular programming we have on offer for the littles.
TWEENS
For our tweens, if you haven’ t yet, please come by and enjoy our new Tween Room. It’ s a fun space just for you, including all the things that you like to do! We also have Tween Night events, with Friendship Bracelet Making on September 25th, and Gingerbread Haunted Houses on October 30th, both from 6 to 7 p. m. Hope to see you there!
TEENS
For teens, we have a new Teen Advisory Board, and we would love to hear from you. If you would like to learn more about this board, please contact bcpl. teens @ blounttn. org. Every month, we offer the Teen Movie Night on the first Thursday from 4 to 6 p. m. Karaoke Nights are on the last Thursday of each month, also from 4 to 6 p. m. On October 22nd, from 4 to 5:30 p. m., we are having our murder mystery,
Righteous Revenge. Can you solve the crime?
ALL AGES There is more for all ages. We have the Silent Disco on September 27th from 6 to 8 p. m., Bingo Night at the Library, October 13th, from 6 to 7 p. m., and our Fall Festival on the 18th from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. Finally, on October 30th, we have the all day Trick or Read program for ages 3 to 10, followed by the Teen Halloween Party from 4 to 6:30 p. m.
ADULTS
Our adult patrons will be thrilled and chilled this season with the Southern Appalachian Series: True Crime of East Tennessee program with Dr. Nancy Locklin-Sofer. It will be on October 27th from 6 to 7 p. m. in the Main Gallery. Just a few days before that, on October 25th, we have a double header, with our Anna Belle Smith Literary Festival from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m., and then our Writing Rural Appalachia program at 5:30 p. m. Both will be in the Main Gallery. We haven’ t even mentioned our book clubs, one an audiobook walking book club, our tech classes, or our writer-in-residence monthly program. There is so much to do, and it’ s all free with your Blount County Public Library Card!
Oh, one more thing … Santa is coming, so check that calendar!
