Circle Park set for Renovation
The Bloomingdale Park District was recently informed that its
$224,000 matching Open Space Land and Acquisition and
Development (OSLAD) grant to renovate Circle Park has been
unsuspended.
The grant, originally awarded in December 2014, was then
suspended in March 2015.
Circle Park is the District’s third-most utilized park. The renovation
is to include:
• new nature playground
• picnic shelter
• small skate spot
• rain gardens and improvements to the stormwater systems
• renovated roller hockey rink for multi-season use
• interpretive nature trail with educational signage
All renovations and additions are derived from the Park District’s Strategic Plan, ADA Transition Plan, Capital Asset Replacement Plan and most recent Needs
Assessment.
“On behalf of our residents, Board of Commissioners and staff of the Bloomingdale Park District, we are absolutely thrilled to have this grant,” said
Bloomingdale Park District Executive Director Carrie Fullerton. “Circle Park will be one of the best, most fun places to recreate in 2017!”
