MEET NEW TALENT OUT FROM DURBAN
MAGEYE
B
orn and bred in the City of Durban in the Township of
Umlazi in 1986 and given a name Mlindeli Cele by his
parents. He grew up with a music passion more
especially Kwaito where he drew his inspiration from the
likes of Brothers of Peace (B.O.P.), Mdu Masilela, Trompies,
Alaska, Thebe, Arthur, Mashamplan, Boom Shaka,
Chakaroski, Skizo, New School, the list goes on...........
MAGAYE's (stage name) started writing music a decade
ago as a teenager while he was still at high school. His
passion and experience in music writing grew from strength
to strength which led him to releasing his first album in 2011
titled "eZakhona". The album did not do well due to lack of
aggressive marketing and promotional strategies that were
employed to ensure he hit the airwaves. In the current
album titled "One-Man Share", there is a clear evidence of
major growth in his writing and the producers have shown
justice in ensuring the sounds are tight and the legendary
Lindsey Arends of AMG WORD MEDIA and Eugene
"Alcupoem" Mpulo had ensured high quality mixing and
mastering to ensure the final product worth the price
consumers will pay when acquiring the album.
"One-Man Share" boasts hit tracks such as "Maluju feat.
Lucky Dladla", "Its Magaye feat TAKILA", "Nix Macashelana
feat TAKILA & Alcupoem", "Awukho Fair", "Awunamahloni",
"The Legend" a song dedicated to living Kwaito legend
"Thebe". MAGAYE categorises his music as Dance/House
Kwaito due to fast tempo in the music and will ensure to
keep the dance floor in their toes from first to the last track
due to unlimited "hooks" while imparting various messages
to the audience.
In 2015/2016 years, "One-Man Share" is about to break new
grounds in the music industry more especially the
dance/house/Kwaito genre.
